Zouk Mambo Jambo 17th Anniversary 2009

Wednesday night. I was still working in the office at 9:15pm when I received a text msg on my mobile from my aunt.

Her msg was short. She and my uncle was going to Zouk to support my cousin, Marcus. Dance competition starts at 10pm.

Marcus is their son and he's also a mambo regular. He was in the finals for Zouk Mambo Jambo Dance Competition. How cool is that?!

I replied my aunt, telling her that I was still at work and would probably pop by Zouk later. She called me instead and told me she and my uncle would drive over to pick me up from my office. On the way to Zouk, I was telling my aunt and uncle about Mambo Jambo and assured these 2 first-timers that they would find the songs familiar. I could hear them heaving a sigh of relief when I mentioned "Square Rooms", "Too Many Broken Hearts In The World", "I Should Be So Lucky" and "Never Gonna Give You Up"... Haha!!!

It was quite an experience to be accompany my aunt and uncle to Zouk. And the best part was, my uncle and aunt were caught on camera. Their photo was shown on asiaone.com (also displayed below).

Multi-talented Hossan Leong was the host.

My cousin (Marcus) and the other contenders.

Uncle & Aunt cheering for their son.

Marcus (middle) and his team mates.
He's the jay-chou lookalike in the family.
